Think I will go bald in few days!!!!!!!!
by Noor
Female Hair Loss
I have recently moved to Auckland, New Zealand from India. I enjoy the place and the people but the only disheartening experience is sudden increase in hair loss! Back in India also, i encountered hair loss but i guess that was normal (40-50 strands every time i comb or wash). However recently I've observed that even if i touch my hair i've 5-7 strands in between my fingers. Everyday 100-120 strands come off and the day i wash my hair, hair fall just doubles. I use Pantene shampoo and conditioner (since quite some time now!). Also, i read somewhere that if one suffers from hypo-thyroid, hair fall is a symptom. I am on medication for the same from last 3 years but i am failing to understand why all of a sudden hair fall has been affected now. I am 32 years old and working in a child care centre. I am quite happy and satisfied with my life and the way it's shaping up so definitely stress is out of question (at least since I'm in NZ :) I used to have thick black hair till i 5-6 years back But due to hereditary graying of hair, I started applying hair color (garnier) every month and of course not to mention i was least bothered to evaluate the consequences of such frequent use of chemicals. As a result obliviously graying increased and thus application of color increased to at least twice a month (not to mention to avoid the embarrassment. To add to the damage I also got my hair permanent straightened (for the new look!!!) during my marriage 3 years back Since I naturally have kinda straight hair, i chose not to give any extra care to my hair by changing shampoo or conditioner. Though I know, I've been quite brutal with my hair already, but the fear of loosing them is killing me everyday. Keeping in mind the hair coloring and thyroid medication, can some one suggest me or guide me to at least maintain my hair!!! Thanks & Regard, Noor |
