In Hell
by Jane
About a month later Telogen Effluvium kicked in. In the last couple of months I'd say I've lost more than half of my hair. I've been to a dermatologist who has prescribed Rogaine, and encouraged me to keep up with iron supplements, but I just feel miserable and so, so afraid. Twice, it has seemed like it was slowing down a bit. But after a few days, the massive hair loss returned. It is not obvious to anyone else, but I can tell when I touch my hair how thin it has become, and I know it's only a matter of time before others can see what's going on. I hate this. I accepted this as part of recovery, as a result of what I did to myself, but the longer it goes on, it just feels cruel and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Editor’s Comments, Hi there Jane, we all know how you feel but you have to stay strong. There are many challenges in life that everyone of us must go through and endure. Unlike many other forms of hair loss, Telogen Effluvium is reversible compared to others like Androgenic Alopecia and Alopecia Areata. It will definitely take time as your body takes time to recover but stay focused on your doctor’s treatment and make sure you are having a nutrient filled diet and one day your hair will come back in full bloom. All the best. |
