Hair loss...:(

by Stephanie Davis
(Houston, Tx)

First, let me tell you that I'm 42 years old. Since the end of May this year, I have been losing ALOT of hair. I would say for sure half of my hair or more. ALOT every day. I have had blood work up done and so far the only thing that it shows is a low estrogen level of 22. I'm always tired and with my hair loss, don't like to go out in public afraid someone will notice.

Back in December 2010, my grandmother passed away and on that same day, my mom had a horrible car accident with severe injuries. (She is ok now) Three months after that in March 2011, my grandfather passed away. My hair loss started as I said, the end of May. Just wondering if this could be telogen effluvium or the hormones or both. Has anyone else had this happen and if so, what did you do? The hair loss is taken over my life as I'm always scared of losing what I have left. Will the hair grow back? Any answers would be great.

Thanks,
Stephanie
