Hair Club - The Facts for me

Hair Replacement Systems

I've been dealing with my hair loss for almost 8 years and have tried literally everything; all the ointments, all the Rogaine, pills, vitamins, spray on hair, etc. So, I saw an advertisement for Hair Club a few years ago and thought, 'What the hell, I’ve tried everything else?'

I called the 800 number and was treated very well and even "congratulated" on getting started, but they wouldn't give me any pricing info over the phone, which was my main concern, or what they're guys did to get their hair back. I asked several times, but was refused an answer. I mean, nothing is free right? Anyway, I went in on a Saturday to get the actual lowdown and promptly was met by a nice guy, about 30, I’ll withhold his name, who had a full head of hair, all spiky and cool- like the guys I envied and hated because I couldn't do anything with my hair. Clearly, this guy can't relate to my problem, they hire good looking people with great hair.

We started talking and finally, I got the facts, well, sort of. I learned that all the topical products I was using were worthless because no product can "regrow" a dead hair follicle. IT JUST CAN'T HAPPEN. So, I was either looking at surgery or a non surgical option called a "bio". Then we got into cost. The going rate for the best, and most natural looking surgery, is about 10 grand. Yes, it's expensive, but it guarantees moving your healthy hair in the back to fill in the hair in the front and crown. Made sense after he broke it down to me. A little out of my price range though.

Then we got in to the non surgical hair replacement option. They take a sample of my hair and then match it with real human hair and would then blend it into mine in order to cover the bald spots. He told me that they bond it to your scalp the same way people get their teeth capped and bonded, but with hair. The only negative to it was the maintenance. Since the hair doesn't actually grow, I had to come back every couple months to get it cut or 'reblended'. The initial cost, for me, and I have a lot of hair loss, was around $2,400 dollars. He told me the process took about 6 weeks to prepare and the application took about two hours. I was very intrigued, given the cost difference.

I pushed him for the maintenance cost, and got from him, and another manager that joined our conversation, that the general maintenance costs a few hundred dollars per month, or I could just pay $95 dollars every 6 weeks when I came in. So, now I’m on the fence. How do I make a decision about the future when I don't know what this is gonna look like?

Then they brought out the testimonial pictures, some awesome before and after pictures, some surgery and some non surgical guys and women. I guess surgery doesn't work for women, I don't know. Anyway, then the sales guy, yeah, the one with the awesome hair told me about when he came into hair club to get HIS hair back. I was blown away. He did the bio solution and even let me get as close to his hair as I wanted to look. I couldn't believe it. I would have sworn it was his actual hair. He shared with me his story and I related. He then told me about they're 30 day guarantee, and I figured, if I did it and didn't like it, I’d just give up. So I said, what the hell, I’ve tried everything else.

So, three years later and I have a full head of hair. I pay about 300 dollars a month and, to me, it's worth every penny. I am so much more confident around people, especially chicks, and I love the results. Yes, there is maintenance. No, it's not cheap. Yes, for me, it was totally worth it. I've heard other people talk about itching, which I’ve experience a little, but they have products to combat that. I wear my hair forward or spiked up, very messy, parted sometimes, it's up to me. It's not the hair I was born with, but no one knows that but me....and Hair Club. The only negative is not being told the pricing up front, that's it. I know this may scare some people away, but you won't know if it's worth it to you unless you try it for yourself.

My advice is to call the local hair club that’s close to you and talk to them directly, don’t bother with the 800 number. They will give you the facts. This is not a solution for lazy people, or cheap people, but if getting your hair back is actually WORTH it to you, like it was for me, it's a price I was willing to pay.

Editor Comments,

Dear Shawn,

I can’t thank you enough for sharing your real life experience with Hair Club with us as we are really scarce on this particular topic. The company does produce life-like, customizable hair systems for those people who can afford to pay and keep on with its maintenance costs.

Not everybody is suitable for hair transplants. Some might not have enough donor hairs or some hair loss conditions that will render a hair transplantation useless. There are also a large percentage of people that will not respond to treatments or medications so that leave them with one last option to get back their hair.

Non surgical hair replacement like hair systems and wigs are one of the most convenient and fastest ways to get back your hair. The wig’s quality and the detail that they can create on custom made hair systems today are a huge leap from fake looking ones decades ago. Besides that, the most well made systems are almost undetectable to the naked eyes unless your friends try to pry it open!

However, maintaining a customized hair system is never cheap for most people. It’s a cost that you will have to pay continuously in order to keep it secure and lively. Further to that, there are limitations that you can go with a hair system and you will also have to replace it after a few months or a year max. Also, the daily maintenance time and effort to keep the system in top condition seems to be too strenuous for some people too.

Besides that, I’ve heard some other people recommending other companies because of its steep prices. They seemed to say they can find cheaper and equivalent alternatives elsewhere. (I am not quick to judge as I never have a personal experience with them, just some of my reviews from stories online.) Another note, there are many types of hair systems available and they come in different grades of quality and durability so it’s better to know what you want first.

Anyway, it’s great to know that you are pretty comfortable with your hair system as honestly, it’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to overcome hair loss but I guess the downsides are the maintenance costs and you got to wear it for the rest of your life. However if you are content with that decision, it’s really an instantly effective way to get rid of hair loss.

Please do share more of your experience as a hair system user with us as there will be a lot of people wanting to know about it. Have a nice day!
