Devastating

My fiancé broke up with my back in August 2008 and it was a very hard thing for me as I quit a job and was left unemployed and had a broken heart. I went through extreme mental stress at this time. About the beginning of April 2009 I noticed my hair was coming out more than normal and my head was itching and when I scratched it I would always get skin under my nails.

I thought it was nothing and let it go for a while but then I noticed my hair was noticeably thinning. I was so scared and went to the doctor's. He told me it was just stress and that I would have to do something to stop stressing about my hair.

He put me on an anti-anxiety pill which has helped the stress a lot although my hair is still falling out. It has been falling out consistently for the last three months and my head is getting itchier and itchier. I have a very wide part down the middle of my head and I can see my scalp through my hair. It is very scary.

Is there anyone out there that has experienced this and their hair grew back? How long did it take?
