Combine Couvre and Toppik for best effects
by joe
If you use a layer of Couvre to cover your thinning areas and then apply Toppik, this will make Toppik adhere to the Couvre and whatever real hair you have on your head. Use Couvre as a foundation and then finish with spraying Toppik all over the areas of your thinning scalp. It is a known fact that most peoples' hair is actually a blend of several color tones. I use a blend of various colors such as light brown, medium brown and dark brown whenever I order Couvre and Toppik and sometimes I will even order black colored Toppik just to add in a slightly more diverse color tone and then when I comb it all through and apply a light coating of hair spray, it generally blends well. It may seem like I am using too many colors but if I were to use only 1 or 2 colors, my hair color tone would appear kind of flat and make it more easily detectable. Yes, it is a pain in the ass doing this. You need the better part of an hour, at least I do and I hate it but I only do it once or twice a week. It needs to be touched up a bit here and there with Toppik in the next few days but not alot. The more hair loss you have, the more of these concealers you'll need. One thing I am concerned about is that I suspect all these concealers may be clogging my hair follicles because I have also experienced alot of thinning hair also on the sides of my scalp as I got in the habit over the past 15 years of also spraying the sides as well as the top and back of my head. Another drawback is that after the first or second of applying all this stuff to my head and hair, it just doesn't feel like hair when I touch it with my fingers. It ends up feeling like paint, very stiff but I also use Promox hair growth serum which can make hair slightly sticky if sprayed too close to the head. What can I say? Toupees are very expensive to buy and maintain and there's always the possibility strong winds or rainstorms cam make a mess of them and then your friends will always be laughing behind your back. Wish I was like Bruce Willis and not give a damn but how I miss all that hair I really used to have. |
