The other main cause of women hair loss is stress. When you are under severe stress physically or mentally, your body might trigger rapid hair loss. Minoxidil like Rogaine 2% is the only FDA approved medication that is suitable for women hair loss. Minoxidil is a type of hair growth stimulant known as 'Potassium Channel Agonist' which works by triggering and stimulating your hair follicles to grow. Regular use should not cause side effects but some reports have shown redness or burning sensation during initial use.

If you are suffering from Female Pattern Baldness or any other mild hair loss conditions, you should pick up Rogaine 2% first and try it for 6 months. In most cases if your hair loss is not further caused by a medical condition, you should be able to recover back your hair.

Oral antiandrogens can cause moderate and severe side effects and should only be used for treating more serious medical conditions. If you want to use oral antiandrogens, do consult your doctor first. Usually for women hair loss, topical antiadrogens like Spironolactone 5% is more than enough to help stop Pattern Baldness.
