Triangular Alopecia



What is it?

Triangular Alopecia is a rare case of hair loss where your hair starts to recede from either one or both sides of your temples. The characteristics of this condition are

  • Complete hair loss in the scalp area at the side of the temples.
  • Miniaturized hair follicles noticeable around that area

This condition is so rarely reported that its not a lot of medical research has been done about it.

What causes it?

One of the suspected reasons of this disease is that it's caused by a genetic defect. However no solid evidence has been linked to this and a lot of researchers are still puzzled with this condition.




Suggested Treatments

There have been good results when using standard Pattern Baldness treatment for this disease. Sufferers can opt for

  • Hair Transplant
  • Minoxidil
  • Propecia
  • Herbal remedies
