Avacor

Active Ingredient:

Avacor consists of a range of hair loss treatment products that is said to aid in treating hair loss. The most credible product is the Physicians Topical Formulation, that contains the FDA Approved drug Minoxidil 5% found in Rogaine and other generics.

Who made this?

Global Vision Products is a relatively new company based in New York. Their main business line is the promotion of these products through online ordering via their website. Their products are also sold via a few affiliates portal in the internet.

What makes it work?

The Physician's Topical Formulation is the only product that can help reverse and stop hair loss. The main active ingredient is Minoxidil 5%, a potent 'potassium channel agonist' drug approved by FDA to treat hair loss. Minoxidil can trigger and shock your hair follicles back to the growth phase (ANAGEN) and allow longer hair growth.

This product is almost identical to Rogaine which contains the same formulation of Minoxidil 5%. You can read more about Minoxidil and Rogaine here.

Avacor Nutricap is an oral supplement. The main ingredients are

  • Saw Palmetto
  • Grape Seed Extract
  • Gingko Biloba
  • Horse Tail
  • Bilberry
  • Gelatin
  • Olive Oil

Besides Saw Palmetto, which has proven to have DHT inhibition qualities, the rest of the herbs do not in any way reduce hair loss. However some of these herbs if taken at the right dosage does have beneficial effects on your blood circulation, skin health and can improve your body?s metabolism system.

The rest of the products like the Shampoo, gel and Hair Thickening Serum are just common hair products that are available commercially and might slightly improve the look of your hair.

So What are the Side Effects?

There are 2 major issues when taking Avacor for hair loss treatment. The first, is the topical Physician's Topical Formulation. As this product contains Minoxidil, it might cause side effects like

  • scalp irritation
  • burning sensation
  • dandruff

Excessive usage of this product might lead to

  • dizziness
  • rapid heart beat
  • chest pains

It's always good to use the recommended amount. Initially, Minoxidil is used orally to treat High Blood Pressure and prostate conditions, over applying this product will not benefit your hair growth and might cause negative effects. If you are suffering from heart ailments and high blood pressure, inform your doctor before prescribing this medication.

The second possible side effects are result from Saw Palmetto found inside the oral Nutricap. Saw Palmetto is a potential DHT inhibitor and might cause certain side effects similar to Propecia, another FDA Approved Drug for treating hair loss. Because the method of action is the same, which inhibits the 5 Alpha Reductase Enzyme from forming DHT, you might face with

  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Swelling
  • Vertigo
  • Pain in the testicles
  • Decreased libido
  • Abnormal ejaculation

IMPORTANT

Women must avoid consuming Saw Palmetto if possible. Women taking this supplement in a long run might cause birth defects to your child's sexual organs during pregnancy.

Who should take this?

If you are looking for Minoxidil 5%, Avacor is no different than most generics on the market. Though Minoxidil is safe for women, it is advisable to use only the 2% formulation since Female Pattern Baldness condition is not as severe compare to men. You can get the 2% formulation from Rogaine.

As for the oral Nutricap, men can try it as an extra supplement to your hair loss regimen. Since none of the contents in the capsules are clinically proven to help your hair loss condition, this product is not necessary.

How should I use this product effectively?

For the Oral Nutricap

Take two capsules daily, one in the Morning and one in the Evening.

For the Topical Minoxidil

  1. Apply twice daily, preferably 1 ml of a dropper per application in the morning and another before heading to bed.
  2. The best way to do it is to comb the hair in the balding area leaving the bald spot maximum exposure.
  3. Apply the tip of the dropper against the area. Do not squeeze as you might waste it.
  4. Rub with your finger tips in a circular motion in 2 inch circles.
  5. Apply to the rest of the balding areas.
  6. If you still have remaining solution in the dropper, reapply to the area that you think requires more attention.
  7. Wait for the hair to dry and style as required.
  8. Do not wash your hair for at least 3 hours to allow maximum absorption.

Try not to over apply this product, there will not be any additional benefits if you over apply Minoxidil. You will only waste money and might cause over absorption of this drug. This may lead to scalp irritation and dizziness.

How much it costs you?

A standard treatment of Avacor's Minoxidil will costs you roughly around USD 25 per month. If you get the combo of the Minox with the Oral supplements, it will costs you around USD 44 for 1 month's supply. If you already have a hair loss regimen that has not yet consists of Minoxidil, getting this is another option for you but the Oral Nutricap in my opinion is unnecessary.

The PROs and CONs

Pros
Contains Minoxidil 5%
Oral supplements are beneficial for men's health.

Cons
Overrated.
Bad feedback from customers.
Expensive for generic Minoxidil.
Oral Nutricap does not benefit hair loss.
Reviews about bad marketing ethics.

In my Opinion

If you are looking for Minoxidil to be a part of your treatment against hair loss, I do advise getting Rogaine instead because it is much more reliable and the price is almost the same.

I am also quite worried about companies that promises too much about their products. It looks like the company has gone overboard about what Avacor can do. Based on the content, it's just another generic Minoxidil. As for the oral supplement, it's just a bunch of herbs packed together that has no real effects on reversing hair loss.

I used it....  Not rated yet
and it didn't work. I got the 1 year amount and it was a waste. I still had enough hair to have it work and it didn't at all. Avoid it like the plague....
