What is Anemia Hair Loss?

Anemia hair loss refers to a quite common type of the disease known as Iron Deficiency Anemia. Anemia is a medical condition where you have reduced blood count. It comes from a Greek word 'an-haîma' or 'without blood'. There are a few ways you can get Anemia such as

  • excessive blood loss
  • excessive blood cell destruction
  • deficiency in red blood cells

There are a few types of Anemia but Iron Deficiency is the main cause of Anemia Hair Loss.

If you are suffering from Anemia, there are several medical symptoms such as

  • Fatigue/Weakness
  • Shortness of breath

  • Dizziness

  • Irregular heatbeats

How can I prevent from getting Anemia?

  • eat a healthy diet that includes food rich in iron and vitamin b-12 such as red meat
  • vegetables such as beans, dried fruit and seeds contains good iron content too
  • Take fruits that are high in vitamin C to help with your body's iron absorption.
  • It's important to consider a regime of vitamins and minerals supplements for general well being.
Foods to Avoid

Try not to take too much of

  • Tea because it decreases iron absorption
  • Fibres found in bran and spinach because it binds with iron
  • Excessive amounts of dairy products because calcium interferes with iron absorption too.
